Technical Editor

• Participate in the development of standard document templates and formats for use throughout the organization
• Assist employees from various departments or disciplines with the preparation of technical documents and supporting figures, tables and attachments
• Review, compile and/or edit documents prepared internally or externally, with a view towards consistency and compliance with corporate and industry standards
• Edit documents for continuity, logical arrangement, completeness, relevance, readability, clarity of expression, internal consistency, as well as style, spelling, punctuation and grammar; identify unclear or ambiguous statements for consideration by the author or Manager
• Review and edit material as required to ensure that the message, presentation, terminology and style are correct
• Edit a variety of texts to ensure clarity, accuracy and conformity with the Bank's standards, policies and objectives
• Accurately assess clients' needs and expectations, and work collaboratively with authors and with other groups involved in the publishing process to ensure that the final products meet established standards of excellence in a timely fashion
• Contribute to style, training and reference materials
• Develop collaborative relationships with authors/clients and with colleagues in Translation Services, Publishing Services and the Web team to ensure that deadlines are met and that projects are delivered to exacting quality standards
Required Skills
• Degree in related discipline from an accredited educational institutionbr
• Minimum of 3 years of professional Technical Writing experience
• Demonstrated time management & coordination abilities
• Demonstrated expertise in editing and revising complex technical text
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills to manage workflow and priorities
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Demonstrated skills in developmental/project editing, substantive or structural editing, stylistic editing, rewriting and copy-editing
• Understanding of publishing processes and the functions of collaborative professions
• Expert knowledge of writing standards, usage, grammar and syntax
• Strong command of the English language, both written and oral
